Tiago is a Portuguese architect and founder of sastudio, a Porto based award-winning creative studio that works between the architecture realm and social entrepreneurship.As principal of sastudio, and together with Hjark, won the international competitions for the recently built Gardabaer kindergarten, the Leidarhofdi community Center and the Vik masterplan, currently in development. Prior to founding sastudio, he worked at Kengo Kuma in Paris, in cultural, educational and infrastructure projects.Worked at BIG in New York and Copenhagen, leading the teams for several projects, such as the winning design for the Gare Pont de Bondy in Paris, and for the acclaimed best world restaurant, “Noma" in Copenhagen.With an impact-driven mindset, sastudio work dwells on community design, educational, cultural and residential facilities, and aims to leverage architecture for problem-solving at wide scales, searching for solutions that push beyond the practice’s standards.sastudio has been recognised as a winner of the World Architecture WAF, of the WAN Awards, BUILD, and CLW Global Awards.
