back to João Castelo Branco – Portugal
This project relates to one of the most critical public developments by Porto’s town hall to rehabilitate a very central but problematic neighborhood. The proposal for the public space lies on the requalification of the site’s urban environment and existing characteristics, enhancing the civic identity and image by protecting nature, in its flora, fauna, the water cycle, and its natural course, as in the enrichment of pedestrian paths, seeking to maximize the use and functionality of the public spaces present here.
The strategy is based on a multifunctional and diversified set of programs and interventions that aim to include current and new residents, recognizing their different generations, professions, and cultures.
