In the city of Nantes, the plot is constrained in planning rules. A wooded area, where it is forbidden to build, describes an arc to the south. The program was developed and adjusted throughout the project in terms of back and forth with the project owner.
The project has been made possible with the first choice to keep a regular grid of 3.70 m poles south facade. The house is longwise on the site. To fully enjoy the view and reduce the thickness of the wall, the entire façade of the ground floor is glazed on its height.
The context permits that the trees tops preserve intimacy and no future buildings are to be expected limit neighbouring plot. Upstairs, more closed, like a levitating box is perforated with multiple windows, retaining the domestic intimacy. It also allows passing of the sun from the west to the end of the garden. The materials chosen, echo the landscaped area. The cladding is made with French wood and windows frame in exotic wood.
