Rooted in a meticulous reflection on site integration, topography, and volumetry, the project for the stands and changing rooms at the Chessy multisport stadium establishes an intimate connection between the building, the outdoor spaces, the neighboring gymnasium, and the edge of the forest. The linearity of the site inspires a resolutely unified architecture, where rational rigor meets functional elegance.
The façade, a central element of the composition, plays a key role in the architectural staging. It orchestrates a balanced dialogue between depth and structure, between the materiality of the envelope and the spatial qualities it reveals. More than a mere boundary, it unfolds as a fluid transition, graduating uses, hierarchizing spaces, and weaving a harmonious continuity between interior and exterior.
The envelope is characterized by low-carbon concrete elements, mass-colored in a subtle ocher red that pays homage to the vibrant texture of the tartan athletic track. This choice of materials, both aesthetic and functional, conveys the project’s durability and intentional simplicity. A materiality that emerges as a natural response, perfectly resonating with the environmental and contextual ambitions of the site.
By interweaving structure, envelope, and volume, the architecture here transcends technical considerations. It creates atmospheres, evokes emotions, and offers a spatial experience that shapes the identity of the place, both inside and out.
Organized over two levels, the project relies on a modular framework that discreetly structures the spaces while ensuring the coherence of the whole. This grid, omnipresent yet subtle, anchors the stands and changing rooms within their context while affirming their capacity to endure over time, both durable and timeless.
