The project takes place in the North-East corner of the Parc des Loges and develops through a fragmented volumetry to ensure continuity between the ecosystems of the wooded park to the South and the Jules Ferry green alle to the East.
Four distinct volumes, corresponding to the functional entities of the childhood division, are interconnected by glazed passages. This village in the trees is completed by a fifth pavilion to the West, which houses the sports halls and the grandstand, allowing the children’s large courtyard to be intimate, protected in the heart of this small set of pavilions.
The architects have chosen naturals materials, as an allegory of the constitutive elements of the Park, earth and wood. The interior structures are in wood frame and the load-bearing walls in facades are made of rammed earth. It is a secular perennial construction method and one of the most natural that exists.
