Reversal: At the heart of the Batignolles district in Paris, an apartment crossing between an active street and a tree-planted courtyard is refurbished to create an additional bedroom.
The project is reversing the apartment distribution while re-using existing services. The living room is then divided into two bedrooms and the study/walk-in closet/bedroom suite is transformed into the new living space.
Prospect: The ensemble bedroom/wet core/living room is re-balanced. The reconfiguration of the wet room layout opens the largest dimension of the apartment within long internal prospects. Developed in-depth, the building morphology is revealed, and the internal space is visually enlarged.
Picturesque: The construction of a longitudinal spine maximizes the storage spaces both in the entrance and the kitchen. It becomes the Swiss army knife of the apartment. To this deaf line, answer the enveloping curves of the washroom and the kitchen, forming small and picturesque alcoves.
