The project involves the development of a plot located in the North-East of Royan, in a typical suburban industrial area. The plot is divided into two spaces: a public area for administration and a more private area dedicated to technical workshops. This layout helps to streamline traffic flows and separates access zones for administrative vehicles and staff.
The location of the main building is influenced by a gas pipeline running across the site. However, this constraint is turned into an advantage by using the existing embankment to raise earth over the pipeline, allowing for planting and distancing the site from the street. The project strikes a balance between mineral and vegetal elements, emphasizing soil permeability and the creation of a pollinator meadow.
The building consists of a ground floor housing the workshops and an upper floor with administrative spaces and staff changing rooms. The workshops are oriented to the south, benefiting from natural light and cross ventilation. The administrative area is organized around a central hall that provides natural light, with clear circulation and well-defined access points.
The building’s architecture features concrete façades, highlighted by a column structure, and wood in secondary elements. This design gives the building a robust, functional appearance while creating a pleasant, environmentally conscious environment.
The project aims to be a functional, energy-efficient space that integrates well with its local context.
