The urban regeneration project for the Loreto neighborhood in Santa Maria a Vico (Caserta) aims to address the fragmentation and neglect of the area. Its goal is to create new spaces that foster connection, socialization, and growth for the community. The project is divided into three main thematic areas, each designed to meet specific neighborhood needs while blending harmoniously with the surrounding landscape.
Multifunctional Building
The first part of the project involves constructing a multifunctional building along one of the neighborhood’s main axes. The building’s soft, flowing lines are inspired by the shapes of the nearby mountains, creating a strong visual and physical connection to the natural surroundings. Inside, two versatile halls will host events, conferences, and cultural activities, establishing the building as a central gathering point for the community.
Multipurpose Field
The second area is dedicated to a multipurpose sports field for activities like football, basketball, and volleyball. The design follows the natural curves of the terrain, seamlessly integrating the field with the landscape. Next to the field, a building with changing rooms and necessary facilities will be constructed, designed to blend into its surroundings. This sports area will serve as a key space for physical activity, social interaction, and personal development, becoming a vital resource for the neighborhood.
Parking and Infrastructure
The third area includes the construction of a large car park designed to fit naturally into the landscape. Curved lines and the use of natural materials reduce its visual impact, ensuring it integrates well with the surroundings. The project also features pedestrian paths and ramps that follow the land’s natural contours, providing easy accessibility and a seamless connection between built and natural spaces.
Sustainability and Community Focus
Every aspect of the project is guided by a commitment to environmental sustainability and respect for natural resources. Green technologies and natural materials are used to minimize ecological impact, creating a development that balances modernity with nature.
This regeneration initiative is about more than just new buildings and infrastructure. It seeks to create a new model of urban development, where the community can grow, connect, and actively engage in the life of the neighborhood. The project is a gesture of care for both the area and its residents, transforming Loreto into a leading example of sustainable urban regeneration.
