The old sports facilities of the Sand football club, were dilapidated and unused, that is why they are undergoing rehabilitation. The existing building, located in a flood zone outside the village, cannot be extended or demolished and is regularly inaccessible when the nearby river overflows.
Beyond the overall and thermal rehabilitation, the building is now attached to the upper level of the road via a new forecourt. Like a maritime pontoon, the building becomes accessible even when the basement is in the water.
Questioning these isolated buildings on the edge of the village and unrelated to a nearby built context, the project reinterprets the language of agricultural buildings, a modest and common architectural figure of the Alsace plain.
Its symbolic elements are mobilized in the project:
simple and introverted volume
a main sliding door
a robust and utilitarian metal cladding
