The goal of the masterplan is to rewrite the paradigms of those places often considered wasted and marginal, such as the surroundings of the railway stations, to create a large oasis aimed at social well-being and sustainable innovation: here is a renewed gate to the city, attractive and accessible to all.
The design is sinuous and has dynamic textures, without interruptions. The compositional system is led by five solid strategies: the pink cycle/pedestrian “snake” organizes the entire area; the never-ending park that embraces the curvilinear path incorporating various environmental and social themes; the approach to slow and sustainable mobility with the aim of “car-free” city; to preserve and regenerate the existing building heritage usually made up of industrial buildings; and finally the insertion of new buildings characterized by an effectual functional mix in way to ease a new living comfort and to define a new green district of the city.
