In the heart of a domain steeped in history, where the whispers of centuries blend with the tranquility of the landscape, stand a 17th-century house and chapel, silent guardians of a cherished heritage.
Nestled within this bucolic setting lies a wooden cabin, designed as a guest house and pool house. This extension seamlessly combines architectural simplicity with contemporary conviviality, offering two intimate bedrooms and a bright living space that brings together a kitchen, a lounge, and a dining area.
Beneath its dual-pitched roof, the house opens westward onto a spacious, sunlit terrace, extending gracefully towards a shimmering pool. The delicate mullioned French doors establish a visual continuity, dissolving the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, inviting the surrounding landscape to harmonize with the living spaces. To the east, tall vertical openings play with light and shadow, fostering a subtle and calming interaction with the environment.
The main entrance, slightly elevated by a flight of eight steps, ensures a smooth transition between the terrace, the pool, and the undulating curves of the garden, enhancing the organic connection between these spaces.
In harmony with its context, the extension’s façades and roof are clad in wooden shingles, a choice that respects the original wooden frame while asserting a contemporary aesthetic. This dialogue between natural materials, history, and modernity anchors the project in a timeless and sustainable approach, enriching the domain it inhabits.
