House overlooking the sea is “Breaking the transition with the outside.” In this seaside house, the living space reveals itself through views according to the winds and tides, like a lively postcard.
This project comes to life when these moments are captured, where each new architectural fragment enters and dances in its context. With a strong background, the challenge of this renovation was to create a new living environment, inside an original “Île de Ré” House.
The central area is here to connect the living room and the bedrooms, through a solid oak strip, in which we can find the doors and storage units. This central space also helps create the sequences and framings, which highlight the exterior context while succeeding to bring it indoors.
Everything was conceived in detail so that each architectural element finds its way and where each sequencing and framing is both highlighting what previously existed and also gives it the stamp of united togetherness.
