Situated at the confluence of mountains and sea, the proposal harmoniously integrates into the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, fusing urban and rural landscapes. The neighboring residences, marked by substantial scale and unique vernacular architecture, including stone walls and hill cottages, enhance the area’s charm and heritage.
The intervention comprises two residences, limited to two above-ground floors, positioned on a promontory linked by a steep rocky slope to the surrounding terrain, with prominent presence of trees and rocks. The design embraces the plot’s natural structuring elements by multiplying the use of protruding slabs that extend the garden horizontally, and prioritizing unobstructed views, solar orientation, and the integration of artistic elements.
Meticulous planning establishes a profound connection with outdoor spaces, amplifying the impact of the views that define this exceptional setting, with afforestation involving native hardwoods.
