Haasje Over features 190 social rent apartments, with 136 housed in a residential tower distinguished by large windows and red-orange ribbed concrete façades—a nod to the historic red roof tiles of Philipsdorp’s old workers’ houses near Strijp-S. The remaining fifty-plus homes are situated in a lengthy steel building bridge, skimming over the sawtooth roof of an adjacent skate hall within a renovated factory. The tenth floor hosts a communal space and a second bridge, extending to the roof of the former Philips radio factory, straight into a lush green rooftop. This innovative design seamlessly integrates a vertical residential tower with a floating bridge of terraced houses. Moreover, the bridges serve as a connecting link, fostering unity between the tower and its surroundings, creating a harmonious blend of vertical and horizontal elements in the unique urban landscape.
