The project transcends mere preservation by creatively adapting the building to contemporary needs, reestablishing it as a haven for travelers seeking rest, nourishment, and connection with the surrounding natural beauty.

Architectural and Functional Vision
The design restores the Hospiz’s original form, maintaining its characteristic gabled roof, transverse pediments, and plastered walls. These elements evoke the building’s historic simplicity and welcoming spirit while allowing for modern reinterpretation. The transformation focuses on reorganizing interior and exterior spaces to create a seamless blend of tradition and innovation.

The ground floor serves as the public hub, transformed into a warm and inviting inn-restaurant. A new panoramic terrace, strategically oriented toward the Sella massif, becomes the highlight of the design. Shielded from the nearby road, the terrace offers guests a serene space to immerse themselves in the breathtaking mountain views, providing both openness and privacy.

Interior Redesign: Fluidity and Light
Inside, the reorganization eliminates unnecessary structures to maximize spatial efficiency and comfort. On the first floor, new dining areas with dramatic double-height spaces replace previously low-ceilinged, underutilized rooms. The removal of certain floor slabs restores the building to its original volume, undoing modifications that had obscured its historic proportions. Modern Guest Accommodations
The south-facing lower level, which opens onto meadows and natural vistas, houses 46 thoughtfully designed guest rooms. These one-star accommodations embrace an essential yet refined style, prioritizing panoramic views and a seamless connection to the landscape. Positioned away from the road, the rooms are tranquil, functional, and respectful of the natural environment. Large, unobstructed windows bring the surrounding beauty into each room, offering guests an intimate experience of the Dolomites.
