The Gennevilliers project stands out with a diverse program including 50 social housing units, 100 student rooms, a 700 m² base for commercial spaces, and an underground parking facility with 54 spaces. It is situated on the corner plot of the new city center ZAC (Development Zone) of Gennevilliers, along the new esplanade that aligns with the town hall.
This conventional program for an exceptional location led us to propose a distinctive volumetric composition. Initially, a base of black concrete encompasses the garden, housing both commercial spaces and residences. Then, three volumes in light concrete emerge from this base, creating shared terraces between them, allowing air and light to penetrate the heart of the block.
To unify and strengthen the identity of this project, we chose to implement, on all concrete facades from the base to the emerging volumes, from the ground floor to the 7th floor, a matrix that imparts an original pattern to these smooth facades.
