This program involves the transformation of a nursing school, a building composed of various construction eras. Nestled in a wooded park, a 19th-century villa with a cylindrical volume and belvedere marked the site’s history. An extension in the 1930s facilitated a hospice, later elevated in the 1970s. Transitioning into a hotel, the project aims for continuity by preserving the 1930s building and becoming a testament to the site’s history.
The new wing accommodates logistics, an event hall, and ground-floor offices, with upper-level rooms. Slender and curved, it pays homage to the 19th-century villa, offering views of the canopy and sea from upper floors.
The 1976 metallic extension is replaced by a three-level wooden extension, featuring rooms and, on the top level, a bar-belvedere. With a spacious terrace overlooking the woods, it provides a panoramic view of the neighborhood and the ocean.
