Masterpiece of the high-speed mobility project “le train”, Bordeaux’s new “Rive Droite” station is inserted into the urban fabric of the “la Bastide” district, following the old railway lines. The station, as well as the public spaces and facilities associated with it, are in the midst of an urban mutation, and they are a breath of fresh air in the urban fabric, as envisaged in the urban plan.
The ease of access and the public purpose characterize this project which is neither an interior nor an exterior project: the interior and exterior blend together, public and private are dilute to the rhythm of 6 large axes of metal arches intertwine with the roof covers that evolve in line its uses and evoke its historical platform. The program is segmented, and the station square becomes a large central area of facilities on the scale of the neighborhood: offices, cultural center, market, retail, and sports center.
