At the heart of Bègles, on a 118m2 site, this urban house will be developed in 3 stages. The children’s bedrooms, on the ground floor, open to a small garden lot. The living room on the first floor is extended by a decked terrace in ipe wood, allowing for a rapprochement with the flora of the sky.
This extra space is tucked behind the outer wall. The wall enables the house to be protected from direct views from outside into the space, keeping it intimate and convivial. Permeable, the house frames long views of the surrounding roofs and lets light pour in.
At the top, perched —leading onto a new terrace— is the parental room, which —with a little luck— on clear days will give way to views of the Garonne. “L’Épiderme” attaches itself to the neighboring architectural forms in order not to contradict and respect the contextual stone constructions.
