Set on a former vegetable plot in the North boroughs of FR Marseille, the layout and the morphology of the project bring an answer to the function of an educational facility for minors: the building opens towards the urban horizon and turns its back on the residential environment.
The architecture of the facility turns to a stark choice and a light scenography, in order to realize a great living place, no matter the season.
Its form gets strengthened by its regular materiality made of stone blocks from the quarries of Estaillades.
In this building, openings permit the perception of bulkiness. The bay windows are deep and highlight the shade, just as alcoves.
The construction is made of stark and robust materials. The facades are both made of massive stone, while inside, the wood plank cast walls are let raw. The wood carpentry, visible from the circulation, brings rhythm to the wandering.
