The La Paix school in Mons-enBaroeul is seen as a rough diamond, a vestige of an architectural style which combined quality of materials and spatial quality. Built in the 1940s following the plans of the town’s architect, Mr. Gaston Brodelle, the spaces are generous and bathed in light.
Our intervention is of the order of acupuncture: targeted interventions which will tend to highlight an existing architectural quality and contribute to the well-being of users.
The adapted public contract order procedure allowed us to dialogue with the project owner from the DIAGNOSIS and SKETCH phases. The initial program was revised, reinterpreted and extended in collaboration with the project owner in order to define the objectives as well as a global and coherent architectural project.
