COSMOTE TV HQ is a 6,200sqm regeneration project of an abandoned factory. The architecture firm converted it into a fresh office building and state-of-the-art TV Studios, inspired by the constant flow of information.
At the core of the building, the “The Plaza” was created, a space of 1,000sqm, where all teams and journalists interact, get inspired, and produce the TV content. “The Plaza” was conceived as a designed ecosystem. The undulating ceiling is generated by columns unfolding like trees with their branches. Looking back at the legacy of the building, which used to be a printing factory, it moves programmatically from analog to digital, from ink to light.
Thus, at the Façade, the light was “built” using high-tech translucent tensile membrane, creating luminous ribbons which run along the building, glowing during the night, while performing as shading devices during the day. The project gained LEED Core & Shell Gold certification.
