The restructuring of the Alfred de Vigny middle school serves educational ambitions while also being part of a virtuous environmental policy. Indeed, the project establishes a dialogue with the city by proposing green public spaces, but also a strong integration of the volumes and uses in the context. The project makes sure to limit nuisances on its immediate environment. It preserves all the existing entrances, opens the space towards the depth of the parcel on Lambrecht street, but also recovers the alignments and structures of the teaching building on Lefèvre street.
At the corner of Lefèvre street and Lambrecht street, the project feels like an urban sculpture that feeds on heterogeneous objects such as Haussmannian buildings, without seeking to overwhelm its own status as a public facility. The project proposes a volumetry of terrasses in order to open the perspectives towards the sun of Lefevre street and the playground.
