This individual residential project promotes the use of natural, bio-sourced, sustainable, and local materials. It is the first raw earth building project in Paris. Except for the basement and the ground floor where concrete is used, the entire structure is made from wood.
The orientation of the rooms, the installation of a ventilation system, and natural insulation make this project irreproachable in terms of thermal characteristics and therefore address the essential issue of architectural ecology through an ethical ecosystem.
Following the same logic, the roof will be greened to accommodate the growth and development of a vegetable garden.
A self-supporting façade from raw earth has been devised, using locally sourced soil from the Ile-de-France region, and a brushed stainless-steel cladding for the upper floors.
It was the result of hard work and collaboration with the design office “BETerre” to find the ideal blend of “Grand Paris” soil, a material that to date has not been used in an architectural project.
