The project proposes to maintain the trees, which means not touching the roots or digging, so the architects propose to FLY. Thus, they achieve a double objective, respect the existing pines and get a magnificent green ‘garden’ (without water cost) as are the top of the pines. A garden and views without the need for maintenance, nature manages it in exchange for not disturbing it. The challenge now was to achieve a comfortable, respectful, private, and “flying” home; therefore, the right level of access was chosen to gain privacy from the street and reach the top of the pines on the opposite side.
