Renovation of a mixed-use building, housing and offices
A space for shared living, Carré Invalides is a microcosm of the city, interconnecting diverse areas occupied by distinct functions and user groups. The project ensures a balance of privacy and shared experiences.
This initiative involves the renovation of the former Regional Council building, along with its extension and elevation, transforming it into a mixed-use complex comprising housing (one-third student accommodations) and offices.
The design maximizes the potential of the existing structure through a reuse-driven approach, carefully respecting and building upon the original framework and materials. The new elements are seamlessly integrated into the old ones, aligning with the original grids and materials in a way that is both mindful and sustainable. At the same time, the project incorporates innovative technical solutions, bringing a fresh perspective to the historical structure.
