The aim of the project is to give a new shape to the existing courtyard by transforming it into a more private area: nowadays it looks like an entrance, just a place not to be lived but only crossed.
The goal is to enhance the original elements by recovering the housing block and embracing it with a horizontal building that allows it to emerge, stand out and be clearly identified. The main residential building and the old barn become the object of careful refurbishment which enhances the stone ashlars and the exposed brick.
The new linking element, on the other hand, with simple and intuitive shapes, is composed of a clear imprint on the ground and a clear upper sign, like a sandwich. The concrete bands touch massive wall portions made of local stone. Internally, however, the roof slab refers to the local architecture made of wooden chestnut beams.
