The Cultural Center ‘Bermuda’ is a place of artistic production. This is a roof project. It is both huge, and light. It covers 4 volumes and a central void as if it were flying over. This place, built by its inhabitants, has a fundamental architectonic dimension.
Construction issues are treated separately for each element, and solved as simply as possible, simplicity being the core driver of the whole project – a work of handicraft rather than technique, conceived to save efforts and resources.
Materials contrast with each other. Tightly laid trusses project a vibrant shade on brick walls. Stable concrete arches provide a feeling of relief versus the delicateness of the framework. Air flows, birds nest between the wooden pieces, volumes invite to look through.
