This house is a secondary family villa for 2 brothers, both of whom have a desire for their own respective private dwelling.
The existing house has therefore been entirely renovated and split in two. Articulated around the original structure, extensions have enabled each lodging to possess its own kitchen, living space, four bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms.
The site’s location at the heart of Cap-Ferret was a major factor in the concept. The burnt wood, therefore, felt like the noblest and most appropriate material of choice. In addition, inspired by the pines, this creates a sense of biomimicry that allows the architecture to better integrate into its environment.
The work of the eaves and exposed wooden beams, interior as well as exterior, reinforces the relationship of the indoor/outdoor, multiplying portals of light throughout the day.
Reimagining this family house by separating these spaces offers an entirely modular lifestyle adaptable to the heart’s desires and to every season.
