Llorenç Batlle is a Franco-Andorran architect graduated from ENSAD Paris-Belleville. After having learned from other Parisian agencies (Patrick Berger, Antonini-Darmon) and building upon his experience abroad (Barcelona, Mumbai), he founded his agency ABBA in 2015 with François Baste, his close friend and colleague who shares the same admiration of architecture. In his current architectural route, he works in different fields as educational, commercial, and sportive equipment, housing buildings or ephemeral architecture. Being always open to new constructive and programmatic challenges, especially if they are linked to sustainable development. As the son of an architect and a mathematician, he envisages his passion and work in mixing sensibility and methodology. His understanding of contexts, constructive systems, and challenges of sustainability feed his thoughts, dreams, and sketches. Through his office he tries to offer an original urban and architectural reading where each project is designed as a journey with its own identity and dynamics. Atelier Baste Batlle Architects (ABBA) took form in January 2015, following a collaboration born about ten years ago between François BASTE and Llorenç BATLLE, in the workshops of the ENSA Paris-Belleville. Our partnership has been shaped, in a common spirit of enthusiasm and architectural demand. The office offers an original urban and architectural reading where each project is designed as a journey with its own identity and dynamics. Our architecture is contextual: functionality, rigor and sobriety work together to transform the project into an aesthetic object.
