João Jesus is a Portuguese architect who received his Master in Architecture from the Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto, in 2008.Before joining OODA, João worked as an architect at OMA / Rem Koolhaas office in Rotterdam, on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange project, and previously at Carrilho da Graça Arquitectos on the Lisbon Cruise Terminal project. Between 2012 and 2016, he joined LIKEarchitects as a Partner.OODA was founded in 2010 in Porto on the initiative of Diogo Brito and Rodrigo Vilas-Boas. From their international experiences in various cultural and environmental contexts, respectively in London and Rotterdam, the collective was born. Francisco Lencastre joins in 2011, and in 2018 João Jesus and Julião Pinto Leite expand the company structure to five partners. Both local and global, OODA is working on many prominent cultural, residential, hospitality and mixed-use projects in an office currently with more than 60 architects and an operation stretched with more than 45 projects ongoing, in different phases, 15 of those under construction (500.000sqm total on site).João’s most recently unveiled projects include ‘Alameda das Antas’, a residential project in Porto; ‘Liga Portugal HQ’, the building for the Headquarters of the Portuguese Football League, in Porto; and ‘Malveira da Serra’, comprising two residencies in Cascais.
