Fábio is a Portuguese architect based in Zürich, Switzerland. He graduated in 2009 from ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon and won the prestigious ”Secil Universities Award” as one of the five best architecture students in Portugal.He started his professional experience with Barbini Arquitectos in Lisbon. In 2011 he moved to Chur, Switzerland, to collaborate with Corinna Menn and then to Zürich to work with Weberbrunner Architekten. Over 12 years’ experience working in Swiss offices, he has continued working as an independent architect outside the practice. His life and work experience in two different contexts has allowed him to complement the conceptual side of Portuguese architecture with the more technical Swiss one.He aims to promote regional architecture abroad based on his enormous attention to place, context, and tradition. The use of pure and tactile materials in his minimalist buildings come together in a portfolio that has been awarded, published, and exhibited internationally. Among them are the Lisbon Architecture Triennale and the Venice Architecture Biennale.
